KN Series Blood Bank Refrigerators are designed for the storage.
of blood and all blood components providing maximum protection
for the stored products by means of their advanced technology.
The outer body of the refrigerators is made of
epoxy-polyester powder coated stainless steel and
the chamber is made of stainless steel.
High density injected polyurethane insulation protects the
refrigerators from ambient temperature fluctuations
and minimizes the operating cost. The door window consists of triple glass for perfect insulation. Inner glass is antifogging to avoid condensation and outer one prevents UV lights. Magnetic gasket on four sides of the door prevents air leakage from the chamber and provides complete door closing. The key lock of the door is offered as standard. Interior lighting with on/off switch and large view window on the door provides easy observation of the stored items. The drawers are made of stainless steel with perforated bottom for proper internal air circulation. The drawers are easily drawn by means of the telescopic guides. The plexiglass cover at the front of each drawer allows easy control of the blood bags and prevent warm air entry to the chamber when the door is opened. The plexiglass separators inside the drawers hold the blood bags in an angled position for easy label reading. The separators can be adjusted or removed for different usage purposes of drawers. The powerful air circulation system maintains temperature uniformity and stability at all drawer levels. Directional air flow assures quick recovery after door openings. Automatic defrost system prevents frost on the cooling coils for efficient refrigeration. The control system is based on microprocessor technology designed to simplify operation and guarantee the safety of stored components. The temperature can be adjusted between 0°C and 10°C and can be followed from the large digital display with a resolution of 0.1°C. There is an audible and visual alarm system for high and low temperature conditions, power failure and temperature sensor failure. The alarm system is fed by an automatically re-chargeable battery. In case of electricity interruption, the chamber temperature is measured and displayed as well. Remote alarm outlet and the outlet for connection to central alarm system are offered as standard. Optional RS 232 outlet and NüveBankTM software allow to follow and store the temperature data on the computer. As an additional safety feature, audible and visible alarm is activated when the door remains open more than two minutes. Power switch with key lock prevents the refrigerator from unauthorized use. To control and monitor the real temperature of the stored blood, the temperature is measured from a bottle containing a liquid which has similar thermal specifications with blood.
